YLI began with Yew Lean Foundry & Co in 1966. Today, the group brings together pipe supply, waterworks, metering and water treatment businesses.

Its shares have been listed on Bursa Malaysia since 1997. The group added water meters, smart energy meters and treatment chemicals through its 2025 Damini Group acquisition.
